programming contest problems
Hello, all. I have started posting about problems from the Berkeley Programming Contest on my journal. My interest is in solving and discussing some of the trickier problems from past Berkeley contests, with an emphasis on short, elegant implementations, in both contest-allowed languages (C, C++, Java) and others (Python, Scheme, etc). I am interested in investigating what language features allow for the most concise implementation of contest problems and discussing idioms pertinent to the contest.

Heh, less than a week until the Finals... Any predictions about the results? Again Warsaw? Or China strikes back? Or SPb story is going to repeat itself?

Post a comment, and then we'll see who predicts right )

Hi everybody... When I was introduced to LiveJournal, I have searched for the community about the great part of my life - Programming Contests: IOIs and ACM ICPCs. I have found some communities about programming, coding etc. But there was no community for the contests themselves. So I decided to organize one, and the time will show if some lj-users are interested in such things... I will try to announce some contests from time to time, but I'm not going to spend much time on it, so you're welcome to help me doing this and to enable lj-users know about contests just by viewing their friends' pages... Although I'm from Russia, the only langugage that can be used here is English - because I think American, European, Asian etc users can't communicate in any other langugage than English...
